Blessed Faustyna is one of the most inspiring saints of the 20th century. She was a Polish nun and mystic, recognised as a woman outstanding in holiness. At the age of 20 she joined Congregation of the Sisters of our Lady of Marcy. In her powerful diary, she recorded her inner experience of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to Faustina’s diary, Jesus told her, he wanted the Divine Mercy image publically honoured. The painting Jesus Christ, as the Divine Mercy is the most influential paintings of the 20th century.

Day 1

WARSAW

Welcome to Warsaw! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel.

In the afternoon, get a fascinating insight into Warsaw’s sightseeing sites. Visit The Tomb of the Unknown Solider, passing Grand Theatre of Opera and Ballet and continue the tour to Warsaw’ s UNESCO World heritage site Old Town, rebuilt with love and dedication after World War Il. Take a moment to pray in Basilica of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St.John the Baptist, Warsaw’s oldest church. Enjoy your welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

WARSAW

In the morning visit St. Stanislaw Kostka Church, the grounds is the where the grave of the Blessed Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko. Blessed Jerzy Popieluszko was a Catholic priest, who risked his life to speak against the communist government in Poland during the 1980s. Our next stop is the Holy Cross Church, where Frederic Chopin’s heart is placed. Continue to walk towards the Piulsudzki Square, where Pope John Paul II celebrated Holy Mass in 1979, during his first pilgrim to Poland as a Pope.

In the afternoon drive to the Convent of Divine Mercy at Zytnia Street, which Faustina joined in 1924. Afterwards, drive to Walendow and Derdy to visit the Convent of Sisters of Divine Mercy where Faustina stayed in 1936.

Day 3

WARSAW – PLOCK – GLOGOWIEC – CZESTOCHOWA

Morning drive to Plock to visit the convent that Faustina joined in 1930. This is, where the mission of Sister Faustina, as the Secretary and Apostle of the Divine Mercy began.

Afterwards, drive to Glogowiec, where the blessed  Faustina was born and to church of Swinice Warckie, where she was baptized.

Afterwards, departure to the Sanctuary of Jasna Gora, the capital of Polish Catholic Church and the main pilgrimage destination of Poland. See the famous, miraculous Painting of Black Madonna, visit the Treasury Room with the impressive collection of many precious gifts received by the monastery throughout the ages, including the Golden Rose given by Pope John Paul II.

Day 4

OSWIECIM – CRACOW

Today, on our way to Cracow, we will visit Auschwitz Birkenau, which was the largest concentration camp, it was established during the German Nazi regime. This is one of the most significant historical sites in Europe, it is a symbol of one of the greatest crime ever made against human beings, being the majority were Jews. The site touches peoples’ souls and give all generations a chance to learn and understand the fullness of human sensitivity.

 In Cracow,  take a walk around the Old Town, UNESCO heritage site and visit St. Mary’s Church famous for its wooden, glorious altar by Wit Stwosz. In the Franciscan Church see the most interesting Art-Nouveau stained-glass windows in the chancel. At the St. Catherine’s Church enjoy an organ concert.

Day 5

CRACOW – KALWARIA ZEBRZYDOWSKA – WADOWICE – CRACOW

Take a drive to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, known as Polish Calvary Hill, a huge monastery with beautiful located Stations of the Cross and listed on UNESCO heritage site. After the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska sightseeing we will go straight to Wadowice, Karol Wojtyla’s hometown. We will visit the Wadowice Church of the Presenation of the Virgin Mary, where Holy Father was baptized, the house where he spent his childhood and later we will enjoy the Popes favourite cream cake.

Day 6

CRACOW – ŁAGIEWNIKI

In the morning we will depart for Lagiewniki, the final resting place of St. Faustina. We will visit the Sanctuary, where we admire the image of Merciful Jesus and visit St. Faustina’s convent chapel, the Shrine of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina’s Tomb. The other important place during our visit in Lagiewniki is the John Paul II Center, where the relics of the Holy Father are presented, in the Church of the Blessed John Paul II.

Drive back to Cracow to visit the Archdiocesan Museum of the Archdiocesan Museum, that presents collections of sacred art borrowed from the treasuries of various churches.

 

Day 7

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport.
