Day 1 – Warsaw

WARSAW – ARRIVAL

On arrival at Warsaw airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Take a  walk to Warsaw’ s UNESCO World heritage site Old Town, rebuilt with love and dedication after World War Il.

Your Welcome Dinner is at an authentic local restaurant, full of Polish charm and serving delicious traditional meals accompanied with wine.

 

Day 2 – Warsaw – Vilnius

WARSAW – VILNIUS

In the morning pass the tiered Palace of Culture and stroll through Łazienki Park to the Chopin Memorial. Take a moment to reflect at the Ghetto Heroes Monument.

In the afternoon pass Augustów and Suwalki during your scenic journey through Masuria, a region rich in lakes and vast forests. Cross into Lithuania and continue to the capital city of Vilnius. Dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 3 – Vilnius

VILNIUS AND THE ISLAND CASTLE OF TRAKAI

Start your morning at the Baroque Church of St. Peter and St. Paul before moving on to see the neoclassical cathedral. Join your local expert for a leisurely walk through the Old Town and see the Jesuit University, the Gates of Dawn and the former Soviet KGB headquarters, a reminder of grim and relatively recent events.

A highlight of our travels will be your visit to the fortified island castle of Trakai, originally built in the 13th century and now restored to all its glory.

Day 4 – Riga

RIGA

Head north to visit the unusual Votive Hill of Crosses near Siauliai, the symbol of resistance against the Soviet occupation. Continue your journey to the Latvian capital of Riga, a melange of Teutonic-inspired spires, stylish cocktail lounges and some of the world’s most remarkable art nouveau architecture. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5 – Riga – Tallin

RIGA – TALLINN

Explore Riga’s Old Town with your local expert, visit the Domkirk and see the city walls, the House of the Three Brothers and the castle of the Livonian Knights.

Your travels continue along the shores of the Gulf of Riga and across the Estonian border to reach Tallinn, hailed by travel aficionados as the New Prague.

Day 6 – Tallin – St. Petersbrug

TALLINN – ST.PETERSBURG

Visit the market square with its old German weighing house, pharmacy and Town Hall. The energetic may choose to walk up Toompea Hill to see the castle and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

In the afternoon, cross the River Narva, which forms the Russian border, and continue to St. Petersburg, founded by Peter the Great in 1703. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 – St. Petersbrug

 ST.PETERSBURG

Morning sightseeing with your Local Expert includes views of St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the fortress of St. Peter and Paul and Decembrists’ Square. Travel along Nevsky Prospekt for views of the great Cathedral of Kazan and the iconic, onion-domed Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood.

The rest of the day is yours to explore. Perhaps join an Optional Experience to the small town of Tsarskoe Selo, now called Pushkin, and visit the beautiful Catherine Palace?

Day 8 – St. Petersbrug

ST.PETERSBURG

Located in the Winter Palace, the Hermitage is one of the world’s greatest museums. Marvel at this fabulous collection of paintings and ornaments, ranging from Egyptian carvings to Impressionist masterpieces. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore, shop or relax.

Day 9 – St. Petersbrug – Pskov

PSKOV

Today we head towards Pskow, which is a half way through between St.Petersburg and Minsk. In Pskov we will visit Trinity Cathedral and Pskov Kreml. In the evening we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Day 10 – Minsk

MINSK

In the morning we leave to Minsk, rebuilt by Stalin after World War II. Upon arrival your local expert will take you for a short walk along wide avenues, passing gargantuan concrete buildings, a legacy of Minsk’s Soviet past. Lenin still stands in front of the Government headquarters. Dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 11 – Warsaw

WARSAW

Before we head on to energetic Warsaw, we’ll visit one of the most important Soviet World War II war monuments; the castle like monument of Brest fortress. In the evening we will enjoy our farewell dinner.

 

Day 12 – Warsaw

WARSAW

In the morning you will be transferred to the airport.
