Explore beautiful parts of Poland during a 9 day bicycle tour. On this fantastic bike tour you will not only get a chance to enjoy the regular tourist attractions. This tour is a great way to explore the more impressive and the greener parts of this beautiful country.

Start your journey in Cracow, which offers UNESCO heritage sites for its visitors. Indulge yourself into unspoiled nature near Cracow, at the Dulowska Forest and cycle up the Gubalowka Hill and enjoy the most beautiful panorama of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane.

Learn about unique culture and vivid folklore cycling through small, picturesque Polish villages. During your tour you will also experience a raft trip adventure on the Dunajec River and you will cross the borders to Slovakia.

Day 1

WELCOME TO CRACOW 

Bicycle free day.

Individual arrival to Cracow. Your Nature Travel guide will meet you at 3 p.m. in your hotel. Afterwards we tour the Old Town and enjoy its unique atmosphere. It has been on the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1978. Landmarks include St. Mary’s Basilica, particularly famous for its wooden altarpiece carved by Veit Stoss, Wawel Cathedral and the Royal Castle. After the tour (ca. 3 hours) dinner in a restaurant in the Old Town is scheduled. Accommodation in a hotelin Cracow.

Day 2

THE DULOWSKA FOREST – UNSPOILED NATURE NEAR CRACOW

30 km by bike (500 metres up the hill, the rest flat or down the hill), 70 km by bus.

In the morning we go by bus to Trzebinia and from there we cycle back to Cracow through the Dulowska Forest, the “green lung” of Cracow. On our way we will see the ruins of the castle in Tenczyn, built in the 14thcentury during the time of king Kazimierz the Great. The road to the castle goes 500 metres up the hill. After the picnic near the ruins of the castle we continue our trip back to Cracow. Accommodation as on day one.

Day 3

ZAKOPANE

15 km by bike, 140 km by bus (only down the hill), 3,5 hours on foot. 

Bus transfer into the High Tatra Mountains to the village of Ząb, situated 1060 metres over the sea level (highest in Poland). We cycle on the Gubałówka Hill. There we can enjoy probably the most beautiful panorama of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane. The tour goes down the hill to the Chochołowska Valley where we can see Gorale, the local mountain people, with their herds of sheep. The famous product of the region, a smoked sheep cheese, is called “Oscypek”. We continue our mountain tour on foot and enjoy our lunch in one of the inns (ca. 3,5 hours). Bus transfer to our hotel. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel in Zakopane.

Day 4

THE HIGH TATRA MOUNTAINS AND ZAKOPANE FROM THE HILL OF GUBALOWKA

40 km by bike (250 metres up the hill, the rest flat or down the hill), 25 km by bus.

In the morning a walking tour through Zakopane (ca. 1 hour walk) is scheduled. We learn interesting facts about the unique way of constructing the woodenhouses. By funicular we get to the Gubałówka station where our bikes are waiting for us. Through the village of Dzianisz we cycle down the hill (quite steep) to Chochołow, a picturesque place called “a living open-air museum”. There we have lunch (tasty local food). Then we pay a visit to a local sculptor and his interesting museum. Afterwards we continue cycling through some small villages to Nowy Targ. Accommodation and dinner as on day three.

Day 5

THE HIGH TATRA MOUNTAINS, RUTHENIANS AND GORALE

40 km by bike (3 x up the hill: 200 m, 350 m and 2 km up the hill, the rest down the hill), 20 km by bus. 

After breakfast we go by bus up into the High Tatra Mountains, to the beautiful village of Bukowina Tatrzańska. From there we start our cycling tour through small, picturesque villages. This region is called Zips and its inhabitants who speak partly Polish, partly Slovakian are famous for their unique culture and vivid folklore. At the beautiful Białka river we have our picnic. Along the Czorsztyńskie reservoir we arrive late in the afternoon at Niedzica (2 km slightly up the hill). Accommodation in a guest house in Niedzica.

Day 6

THE OLDEST CHURCH IN POLAND AND THE RAFT TRIP ON THE DUNAJEC RIVER

38 km by bike (Once up the hill: 600 m, the rest down the hill), 30 km by bus, 2,5 hours raft trip. 

By bus we get to the Lapsze Wyżne Pass (867 m over the sea level, a beautiful panorama of the Tatra). From there we start our cycling tour, partly along the Czorsztyńskie reservoir. In Dębno wevisit the oldest wooden church in Poland, originally decorated with paintings from the medieval times. In the afternoon we enjoy our raft trip adventure on the Dunajec river. For thousands of years the river has been trying to break through the high rocks. A scenic view at the huge, vertical, hundred meters high river banks above us. Accommodation in a hotel in Szczawnica.

Day 7

EXCURSION TO SLOVAKIA

35 km by bike (once up the hill -in Slovakia ca. 2 km, the rest down the hill), 30 km by bus. 

In the morning a short bus transfer in the direction of Czorsztyn. We cycle through Kacwin, a village in the Zips region. The architecture of this place is similar to the Hungarian villages. We pass the border to Slovakia and continue to the village of Vel`ka Frankowa. First, it goes slightly up the hill and then down the hill to the village of Cerveny Klastor (short visit). There, at the foot of the impressive massif „Trzy Korony”/Three Crowns, we take a short brake. Then we cycle on a narrow cycling path (carved in the rocks all the way through the breakthrough of the Dunajec river) back to Szczawnica in Polanand. d. In the evening we enjoy a barbecue. Accommodation as on day six.

Day 8

WIELICZKA SALT MINE

Bicycle free day.

In the morning we go by bus to Wieliczka where we tour anunderground metropolis.It is aworld class monument, featuring among twelve objects onthe UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.In the late afternoon time for your leisure. You may tour Cracow on your own. Because of its southern atmosphere the city is sometimes called „Florence of the North“. In a restaurant in the Old Town we have our farewell –dinner. Accommodation in a hotelin Cracow.

Day 9

CRACOW – DEPARTURE 

After breakfast we split with our guide. It is the end of the tour, individual departure. It is possible to extend your stay in Cracow.
