Events across Poland celebrating the 200th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin, will give the country a popularity boost according to the UK's leading travel companies.
The Travel Association (ABTA) reckons the fact that trips to Poland are offering travellers something unique in 2010 will boost visitor numbers.
Born in 1810 in the village of Zelazowa Wola near Warsaw, Chopin is widely regarded as one of the great masters of Romanticism. He is one of the most well-known figures in the history of music and is the pioneer of the mazurka and father of the polonaise. Despite leaving his native Poland for France when he was in his 20s his love for the country of his birth never diminished.
To celebrate what would have been his 200th birthday, scores of events are taking place throughout Poland across the year ranging from exhibitions and intimate concerts to large-scale events and spectaculars.
